Pearl of India
Indian Restaurant Bath

Blink and you may miss it! The entrance to the award-winning Pearl of India restaurant tucked between two shop frontages in Quiet Street, Bath is deceptively subtle, but it is the portal to an exotic world of rich, traditional Indian cuisine served up in an astonishingly lofty historic hall with grandiose décor.

One might be tempted to term the Pearl of India one of Bath’s best kept secrets, if it weren’t for the fact that it is extremely well known in the city and beyond as the leading curry house in town – indeed for miles around.

Whether you eat in or opt for a takeaway the Pearl of India chefs will treat you to a sumptuous banquet of authentic aromatic dishes, made as far as possible from fresh local produce, blended with delicious spice combinations in the traditional way of Bengal, Punjab and northwest India.

Not only will your taste buds tingle, but your senses will be dazzled by the cavernous dining hall which was formerly a chapel, now transformed into an extraordinary, elegant eastern palace.

The service is supreme, the atmosphere buzzing, and the prices surprisingly modest.

The Pearl of India menu choices are as big and bold as the setting. If you find it confusing you can opt for set meals, or choose an extremely economical two-course a-la-carte special from the range of signature dishes. Students get a 10% eat-in discount, and there’s a generous lunch time three course meal deal on offer every day between noon and 2.30pm.

Open daily for lunch and dinner, and from 6pm to 10pm for takeaway orders via Deliveroo, The Pearl of India is incredibly popular and busy.

If you’re a food fundi who delights in dining on delectable Indian cuisine, make sure you book in advance to enjoy the Pearl of India. It’s easy to make a reservation online, or you can call 01225 42232, email reservations@grandeastern.co.uk.
